These general terms describe common considerations for smart contract development and security review services. They are informational and are not presented as legal advice or a substitute for a signed engagement agreement.
Services & Project Scope
Services may include smart contract development, code review, architecture review, security assessment, remediation review and related engineering support. The exact contracts, repositories, deliverables, schedule and exclusions should be defined in writing before work begins.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate scope information, relevant code, documentation, intended behavior, dependencies and timely access to materials required for the engagement.
Audit & Security Review Limitations
A security review is limited to the agreed scope, available information and review period. Software behavior may change after review, and no assessment can guarantee that a system is completely free of vulnerabilities.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality obligations, permitted disclosures and handling of private code or project information should be defined in the engagement agreement when applicable.
Intellectual Property
Ownership and permitted use of deliverables, source code, reports and pre-existing materials should be stated in the applicable written agreement.
Payment
Fees, payment schedule, expenses and any conditions for additional work should be agreed before an engagement begins.
Liability & No Guarantee of Complete Security
Any limits of liability must be established by the governing engagement agreement. Smart contract development and review reduce risk through disciplined engineering, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, economic performance or complete security.
